Great bag for year round use
Bought my Epic 600 just prior to heading away into the Southern Alps on a mid winter tahr hunting trip. Probably the best money I've spent on cold gear. Most nights were well into the negatives, as we camped on snow and ice. This bag kept me warm as toast using just a lightweight silk liner as back up. The zips work well, they shed water as supposed to, and the neck drawstring keeps your body heat in the bag. I've used the bag for around 100 nights in the mountains so far and am very happy.

Brilliant Quality
I love this sleeping bag!! The weight to warmth ratio is brilliant and so far using it in huts for autumn and early winter I have been too hot! The overall quality and tech specifications of this bag can't be beaten as it uses goose down instead of duck down. And it has a high quality overall finish - the zip doesn't snag, it has a little popper instead of velcro at the top of the zip and a handy tiny little pocket by the neckline. It also packs down nice and small if you buy a compression bag separately.
With an extra liner I'm confident this bag will see me through the cold Queenstown winters with no problem!

Please take a look at our size guide. Unfortunately we don't have the exact measurements for the 600 but it would be somewhere between then 400 and the 800.

Epic 800Length 42cmDiameter 21cm

What does LHZ size guide mean?
Damien M on May 9, 2020
BEST ANSWER: LHZ = Left Hand Zip / RHZ = Right Hand Zip - personal preference really.
Does this bag come with a pocket on the inside for your phone/bits? Thanks.
Human on May 7, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hello,

Sorry this bag doesn't include a pocket for your phone/bits. Alternatively, we have a waterproof ultralight drybag for those items.

Kind Regards,
The Macpac Team!
Compression bag. Does it come with one? I note the length is 36cm. Is this in a compression bag?
Don A on Apr 30, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Don,

The sleeping bag is packed in a waterproof vacuum seal sack and comes with a big mesh sack for storage inside. The external bag compresses the sleeping bag, but it can still be more compressed with a compression bag (not furnished). 36cm is the length of the sleeping bag in the vacuum bag. A compression bag can compress it more.

are the temp ratings rated to the en13537 standard ?
Aqua R on Apr 22, 2020
BEST ANSWER: For Winter '20 we have new temperature ratings to introduce for all our sleeping bags, due to updated testing standards. Compared to our old results, we’re a few degrees better across the board — with the exception of the Escapade 150. It’s important to note that the testing method remained the same during this process, it was the test standard that changed. The sleeping bag standard we now refer to is the ISO 23537-1 international standard (formerly the EN13537). All temperatures are in degrees Celsius (°C).

For the EPIC 600 : comfort temp = -5 / limit temp = -12 / extrem temp = -32

COMFORT FEATURES This temperature is calculated for a standard woman (25 years old, 60 kg, 1.60 m) who is globally in thermal equilibrium and just not feeling cold (no shivering) in a relaxed posture, such as lying on their back.

LIMIT This temperature is calculated for a standard man (25 years old, 70 kg, 1.73 m) in a situation of fighting against cold (posture is curled up inside the sleeping bag), but in thermal equilibrium and just not feeling cold (no shivering)

EXTREME This temperature is calculated for a person with characteristics of a so-called standard woman (25 years old, 60 kg, 1.60 m) in a situation of high cold stress, combined with shivering to increase the basic metabolic heat production, which can be maintained only for a limited duration of six hours. The sleeping bag user is curled up in the sleeping bag so as to minimise thermal loss through the sleeping bag. The risk of health damage by hypothermia is possible
Does this sleeping bag have a separate zip at the feet?
Stacey M on Oct 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Stacey, there is only one zip which goes down the side of the bag but not along the bottom (foot area). Thanks, The Macpac Team.

Bing Z on Jun 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Bing. Roughly 77cm and 65cm respectively. Thanks

Hamish O on May 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Hamish, Thanks for your comment. The standard is 80cm width ad XL 82 cm for the Epic 600. All the best.
