Why we made this
Designed with performance and functionality in mind, the tapered semi-rectangular shape of the Latitude 500 optimises warmth and insulation.
  • Product Description
The women's Latitude 500 XP is a versatile sleeping bag that's suitable for a wide range of adventures. Filled with premium 700 loft Responsible Down Standard (RDS) goose down encased in a breathable and water-resistant Pertex® Quantum Pro shell, the Latitude 500 will keep you comfortable in cold weather. Designed with performance and functionality in mind, the tapered semi-rectangular shape optimises warmth and insulation while providing more internal space than a traditional mummy-shaped sleeping bag. Designed specifically for women, this sleeping bag has a more feminine shape with increased room at the hips and a slightly narrower shoulder. Featuring the same fill weight (or quantity) of down as our regular Latitude 500 sleeping bag, the women’s specific version is marginally shorter in length. This provides a greater concentration of down for improved core insulation.

How wide is this across the shoulders? Bit of a wriggly sleeper so wondering if it's better to just get a standard one.
M V on Feb 1, 2020

As you can see in the size guide, the shoulder width is: 79 cm

Hello, wondering what the advantages are to buying a women's bag. I'm buying two (one for the husband -- standard overland 500 -- and one for the wife). Plan on getting one LHZ and one RHZ. I know the standard (men's) bag is a bit longer. I presume that the extra length would be at the feet and that the heads would match up once zippered together. Is that right? additionally, the specifications of each bag suggest that they're the same weight. Curious to know if that's really the case. I would have thought the women's bag would be lighter as it is shorter.

BEST ANSWER: Hello Alex,

This is the correct weight (1119g) for both the Latitude 500 standard size and Latitude 500 women's size. The extra fabric that is used for the length of the standard size is used as extra baffling around the torso in the women's making them the same fabric weight. As well, the sleeping bags have the same amount of grams (500) of down in both sizes.

The women's bag is not the same shape as the standard. They can zip up as an open duvet but not as a full double zipped duvet.

I have lost my stuff bag for a sleeping bag the same as this - what size stuff bag should I replace it with please?
Tania S on Dec 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Tania - we would recommend the Sea to Summit compression dry bag. Medium size would be recommended: https://www.macpac.co.nz/accessories/dry-bags-stuff-sacks-pack-liners/sea-to-summit-medium-compression-sack-dry-bag/111123.html#q=compression&lang=en_NZ&start=2

We hope this helps, thanks the Macpac Team
Can this zip with standard Overland 400 right zipper? Or other macpac sleeping bag model?
Ada L on Oct 22, 2019

Yes, that should be possible. But we are unsure how it would work if it is two different sizes.

Hey there is it possible to get this sleeping bag linked with the RHZ standard latitude XP goose down 500?
Jenny W on Feb 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Jenny, the latitude LHZ and RHZ can be zipped together, the women's is able to be zipped to the standard. Just take into consideration that there will be a slight difference in length. Cheers :)
Is the down in the latitude sleeping bag “hyper dry” treated?
Susan L on Jan 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Susan, the down in the Latitude bag isn't treated with HyperDry. The material used however is water resistant. The Epic sleeping bags do not have a water resistant material, but the Down is coated in HyperDry. Hope this helps.
