to be honest it is not really a two person tent. i measured the diagram and our old caravan mattresses and they should have fitted but they could not both fit when my wife and i went camping so one slept in the tent and one in the car. the tent is great for one person and the delivery was very prompt but the size description was misleading. Don't rely on the size specs
Quite disappointed with this tent sizing, should have got them to assemble it and test laid down in it at the store. I'm 198cm long (6"6') and thought the advertised 220cm length would be plenty. Boy was I wrong, if you are my height and attempt to sleep side-by-side with a second person you are gonna get either a bitten head or feet by mosquitos through the inner mesh. I don't touch the ends if I sleep on the diagonal, but then it becomes a one person tent...

Nice simple tent, but flimsy materials
The Nautilus is a nice simple tent that pitches easily and holds up well to wind and rain. Unfortunately the tent I have is a couple of years old and the inner is coming to bits at several points. The nylon has a grid pattern, but once it weakens at a seam, it keeps going. The insect mesh is also weak and has given way at a couple of spots where it joins the floor. One of the loops attached to the floor also came unstiched. An older Macpac Apollo (made in Vietnam) I have has seen more use, is still going strong and appears to be made of more robust materials. The Nautilus is made made in China and the shift in location of manufacturing seems to correlate with a drop in quality.

Nice design, poor manufacturing
Partner and i purchased this tent for a 10 day trip. The tent arrived with slight damage to the inner mesh fabric in a small spot. We found the fly doesnt fit well to the tent and cant be pulled taught on all sides due to the sizing mis-match. The inner mesh material is very fragile and ours was further damaged by the velcro straps when it was packed away. Good size and easy to set up, also very light.

great three season tent
My Olympus tent (purchased in the 1990s) is still going string but I decided to get a lighter, three season tent and bought a Nautilus. Great tent. I use it for solo summer and winter (non-alpine) hikes. It might be a little cramped for two, but probably no more then any other two person tents. Good value for money.

Really Old, Really Phenomenal.
This was my first Macpac tent, until it got trashed in a car accident. It was at least 15 years old, and in that time there was a period I lived in it continuously for a year solid. Towards the end the floor was starting to delamination, but still didn't let the wet in. The new ones have probably got some fancy new material.
My only concern was when you unzip the fly when raining, it got damp in the entry. I got good at that zip!
It got stuffed into many different sea kayak holds and was none the worse for wear using only it's original stuff sacred.
The abuse I gave it over the years is the reason I decided to replace it with a shiney new Macpac Sololight.

Good value for money, minor mods needed
Have used this tent for three years now. It's a tried and tested design. Good weight balance and functionality. In poor weather it's always worthwhile carrying a ground mat for under the tent and a fly to give you some space as it's quite cosy for two people to be stuck in.

As per Daniels review, the biggest fault in this tent is that there is no internal zip to access the back vestibule. Would have to get out of the tent to properly go through your pack. This is really frustrating as storing gear at the front gets in the way.

I'm now enquiring at tent manufactures to see if they can stitch a zip in for me.

Great Beginner Tent
We've been using this tent in the Marlborough Sounds and it has been great. The weather's been pretty good for us, so I haven't tested it in wild weather yet.

Impressed by its toughness
Took thectent out for its first use on Matiu-Somes Island in Wellington Harbour. Very easy to put up in the wind. A bit of a squeeze for two adults with packs but quite workable. Thectent held up beautifully in very high winds gusting to 75kmph (we were told the next morning)
We may not have got much sleep but the tent was a champ!

Nautilus as a bright living space
My Nautilus is easily big enough as a comfortable living place for a medium stay camp-out. The fabrics all work well to provide a waterproof environment and the ventilation keeps this dry and airy. There is plenty of room for moving around inside the tent for dressing and kit fits easily into the covered area provided in the vestibule area.
All in all a great little camping tent, pleasant, economical and a quality product.
