Why we made this
Engineered for minimal weight and maximum space, the three-season Sololight is designed to support a single person hiking below the snowline in the warmer months.
  • Product Description
Our lightest tent, the Sololight is engineered for minimal weight, optimal space and weather protection. Weighing in at just 1.29 kg, this one person hiking tent has a single ridge pole, Multi-Pitch™ design with two small struts (one at each end) to maximise space. The Multi-Pitch™ system offers ultimate versatility when it comes to uncertain weather conditions, allowing you to pitch both the fly and the inner independently of each other. The waterproof UV20™ PE fly is factory seam sealed to provide a 1,200 mm hydrostatic head — striking the balance between weight and performance with silicone coatings on the outside to repel moisture and PE on the inside to ensure it's waterproof during those unexpected downpours. Similarly, the waterproof 'tub floor' design is made from lightweight ripstop nylon featuring a 10, 000 mm hydrostatic head rating, effectively removing the need for a separate footprint. With mesh used extensively throughout the inner, the Sololight allows for greater airflow in warmer climates. A large vestibule enables sheltered cooking and gear storage, while the DAC Featherlite NSL™ poles are strong, stable and 'green anodised' to minimise the use of toxic chemicals during the production process. A great tent for solo adventures.

After washing, we recommend that you reproof the fly with Nikwax® Tent & Gear SolarProof®
UV damage — do not leave tent pitched in direct sunlight for longer than necessary

Nearly perfect
Very few compromises. Mine is the version 1 that has a pole sleeve in the fly, a big plus for me. And I think it's green colour is nicer than the V2's yellow. Excellent inner & storage space, good use of mesh & vents, good peg & guy points, good weight. Picky points? ...the fly door can't be rolled up & tied back - it hangs as a flap from a toggle. And the floor strap for holding the pole ends can't be left in place with the inner tent attached (my Microlight allows this). My Microlight is much faster to set up but to be fair that's compared to most tents full stop. In all I really like my Sololight.

Great little tent.
It is great. Easy to put up and very light to carry.

More room than you'd believe.
Very happy with my new tent. Surprised how well all my clutter has fitted in. 2 back panniers and 2 front. With still more room for helmet, shoes, water bottles etc.
Had 31km/hr winds last night and just had a bit of fabric rattle.
Haven't been rained on yet.
Saved 1.5kg compared to my old tent.
Only gripe was instructions for putting it up was limited. Especially setting up the fly first. A video would help.
Also the top vent touches the inner tent possible drip source? Am I setting the tent up incorrectly?
Putting the end poles in was very, very tight. Packing fly up with them in so I don't have to battle with them.

Is it good enough on heavy rain condition? or it just OK with lightly ran?
Paul p on Mar 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Paul, thank you for your question. This tent is perfect tramping tent for the summer, this tent repels light rain so we wouldn't recommend this tent for use in heavy rain conditions as this tent is designed as a light summer alternative to the Microlight. The Microlight 4 season tent would be better suited for heavy rain as this tent is designed to be waterproof and highly durable. however this tent is slightly heavier than the sololight. Hope this is helpful. Cheers :)
Hi I have the V1 but not used for a while. Is there a video or good instructions for pitching? Thanks.
Gillian G on Jul 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Gillian, Yes, there are some good videos for the Sololight. A recommended one is https://youtu.be/PX4IbvcVWHY

Thanks the Macpac Team
Hello,
Are you able to buy the tent pole/s separately if they get damaged?
Thanks Sam.
Sam N on Jun 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Sam, our repairs and warranty team try to keep stock of poles, and certainly have a range of spare parts for the tents and tent poles. Thanks.
What is differences between v1 and v2 models?
John C on Jun 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello John,

V1 uses a silicone fly and it is a similar design to the Minaret where the tent and the fly are connected so easier when setting up.

The V2 uses Polyester Rip stop with PE coating fly. The setting up is slightly different to the V1 where you pitch the inner first then you put the fly over it. Thanks
