Why we made this
A reversible jacket, the Pulsar Alpha features PrimaLoft® insulation for an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio.

Product Description
Synthetic insulation is perfect for keeping kids warm in winter, because it retains its insulating properties even when wet — unlike traditional down which often clumps when wet. This jacket specifically features PrimaLoft® Silver Hi Loft Ultra synthetic insulation for a 'puffier' look and cosy feel. A compressible insulation, PrimaLoft® Silver Hi Loft Ultra is water resistant, breathable, packable and offers increased durability. Fully reversible, this jacket has hand pockets on both sides and has a subtle print pattern on the reverse for something fun. A full length front zip allows easy ventilation, while the zipper garage protects kids' chins and the internal draft flap reduces heat loss — this becomes an external draft flap on the reverse.

Best lightweight jacket
Keeps my son warm without weighing him down... totally happy with this purchase. Got him a size up so it lasts longer.

Great reversible kids jacket.
This was a birthday present for my nephew. He loves it. It's reversible (something I didn't know until he showed me) and a great fit. He is eleven and this will see him through next winter as well.

Is this jacket waterproof?
BEST ANSWER: Hi Deb, thanks for you question. They are not seam sealed nor made from waterproof fabric so we would class them as water resistant. The synthetic fill however, takes an incredibly long time to allow water to pass through and even if wet the jacket will still retain its insulating properties. All the best, the Macpac Team

hi the washing / care instructions don't seem to be in the product specifications. Is it dryclean only?
BEST ANSWER: Hello Sacha, thanks for the question. We will get this loaded up ASAP. In the meantime:
Wash only as necessary
Warm hand wash in non-detergent pure soap or Nikwax Down Wash®
Handle with care when wet
Rinse well by gently kneading the down
Do not bleach
Do not use fabric softener
Dry flat in shade initially, then tumble dry on low heat several times to separate the clumps of down
Do not dryclean

How does this compare to the down jackets warmth wise?
BEST ANSWER: Hi Nikki, thanks for your question. The down jackets are warmer than the Primaloft jackets but the synthetic fill responds better when exposed to water ie still insulates and repels water for a lot longer. All the best, The Macpac Team.
