Why we made this
Engineered for the weight conscious, the Fiord 1.1 40L Hiking Pack leverages over four decades of pack building expertise to combine performance with traditional hiking features.
  • Product Description
The Fiord 40 1.1 presents lightweight performance that doesn't compromise on durability. Made from hard-wearing nylon and Cordura® fabrics, this hiking pack features an extendable storm throat for greater overload capacity on those longer hiking trips, yet with side and top compression straps you can easily modify the pack for comfort while carrying less gear. Mesh side pockets offer convenient storage for drink bottles, while the front mesh pocket and additional bungee attachments make it easy to shed and stash layers in between rain showers. The HeliumLite™ harness features breathable mesh and is easy to adjust for individual comfort — as is the lightly padded hip belt — making life easy on multi-day hiking trips.
  • Design features
HeliumLite™ harness designed to maximise comfort, stability and load transfer

  • Care
You are best to clean your pack with a natural, non-detergent soap and a soft-bristled brush
Suitable soap types are: pure soap, vegetable soap and Nikwax® Tech Wash®
Rinse the pack well and dry it in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight
Do not put your pack in the washing machine as this will void your warranty
Always try to keep the zip teeth clean — wash with fresh, clean water and lubricate with a silicon lubricant suitable for use on fabrics
Do not tumble dry, iron or dryclean

Thanks for your enquiry.

The answer is yes, but not on its own. You need to remove the pack hip belt and thread it through the buckled up lid to make the bum bag/sling type bag.

Is this pack weatherproof/resistant or should I look at getting a rain cover to go with it. If so, what covers to you recommend?
Jason H on Aug 6, 2020

The outer material will have a slight resistance to water, but it would be recommended to use a rain cover. Our Medium sized rain cover would fit this pack.
