Does this bag come with two different sacks. Based on the pictures above which show two different sacks I had expected two but only had the dry bag stuff sack when arrived. Should there be a mesh bag as well and do you need to buy a compression sack separately if you wish to compress further for tramping?
Chris on Feb 8, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Hi Chris,

Yes, this should have come with a mesh storage bag and vacuum stuff sack. Sometime the mesh bad is hidden inside the sleeping bag, at the feet. If not there, please contact the Customer Care Team directly and they can assist further.
If you wish to compress the sleeping bag further then yes, you would need to purchase a compression sack separately.

Thanks,
The Macpac Team
Sorry had one more question but is the sack that it is supplied in a dry sack as in water-proof? Or is it just water-resistant?
Thank you!
Vlad
Vlad K on Feb 2, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Hi Vlad,

Yes, this is designed to be waterproof. We also sell the Sea to Summit Compression Dry Sack, that helps compress the sleeping bag further and is also waterproof.

Thanks,
The Macpac Team
If I was to buy a compression sack what size would it back down to at smallest? Thank you!
Vlad K on Feb 2, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Hi Vlad,

Dimensions (cm) - 34 x 21 (packed dimensions — subject to variability of compression)
You may be able to get it smaller than this, but these are the dimensions we have when its compressed in its own dry stuff sack.

Thanks,
The Macpac Team
Please explain
LHZ RHZ sorry i cant decifer sizing?
Emma K on Oct 26, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Emma,

LHZ stands for Left Hand Zip and RHZ stands for Right Hand Zip. This refers to which side of the sleeping bag the zip is done up. This is generally a personal preference thing.

Thanks,
The Macpac Team
Can two of these bags (Macpac Latitude XP Goose Down 500 Sleeping Bag - Standard ) be zipped together?
Michael K on Aug 16, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Michael,

Yes they can, as long as you have the Right Hand Zip and Left Hand Zip.

Thanks,
The Macpac Team
Is the shell water resistant enough to keep condense water on the inside of the bivy out of the sleeping bag?
Hannah on May 26, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hello,
Yes, it should be. Be mindful of the fact that while the fabric is water resistant, the seams are not taped, which would allow moisture to get in during sustained wet conditions.
To maintain the performance of your bag when used in these conditions you really need to ensure it is aired out as much as possible, or you risk moisture building up over time and decreasing the performance of the down.
Thanks, the Macpac Team.
How water resistant is the bag? Do I need a bivy if it is not raining while sleeping outside?
Hannah on May 26, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Hannah,

Thank you for your enquiry.

This item contains a water resistant coating which helps to protect the down when moisture builds up in a tent or bivy camping in damp conditions but it is not a replacement for a bivy bag.

We hope this helps!

Thanks - the Macpac Team
Hi there,
Can you unzip the whole thing and use it as a duvet?
Philippa B on May 2, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Philippa,

Yes, you can unzip and use this as a duvet style.

Kind Regards,
The Macpac Team!
I'm trying to decide between the Overland 400, XP 500 or XP700 to replace my 25yr old Escapade 350 (bought originally to travel through Asia!)? I use my bag camping (tent), tramping and skiing (staying in huts). This summer using my 350 I was uncomfortably cold in mild temps of 14 degrees C!! I am obviously feeling the cold more as I age! Would the 700 or 500 be too hot. Would the 400 be too cold! Weight is a big consideration plus ventilation. Help, I just cant decide!🤔
Indecisive on Feb 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Alex, the Overland 400 and Latitude XP 500 have similar temperature ratings the Overland has a temperature rating of -1 Limit of -7 and extreme of -24 whereas the 500 XP has a temperature rating of 0 Limit of -6 and extreme of -23. The Overland has a hyper dry treatment which provides a water resistant coating on the duck down which allows the down to puff back up if the down was to become wet. The 500 XP is goose down and does not have the Hyper dry feature, however the outer shell is constructed from Pertext Quantum Pro which provides a water resistance coating to provide increased weather resistance, durability, high water resistance and maximises efficiency of insulation. The 700 XP has the same specs except the temperature rating is slightly better the temperature rating is as follows - Comfort -4/Limit -10 and extreme -29. The extreme temperature rating refers to having 6 hours to get out of the situation or the situation could become life threatening. Depending on what weather conditions and temperatures you will experience will be the decider of which bag to purchase. If you need to discuss this further please feel free to call the customer service line NZ 0800 622 722 or AU 180 128 504 and we will be more than happy to assist you further. Hope this information was helpful. Cheers :)
