Macpac Ember HyperDRY™ Down Jacket - Men's
Why we made this
A classic style, the Ember Jacket is designed to be warm and durable — featuring water-resistant down and waterproof fabric across the top of the jacket.
A classic style, the Ember Down Jacket was designed for hiking and features a combination of technical fabrics and fill for maximum warmth and weather protection while adventuring in changeable climates. Water-resistant HyperDRY™ goose down maximises insulation performance in wet conditions, keeping you warmer — plus the down is independently certified by the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) to ensure the humane treatment of animals. For the shell, Pertex® Quantum Pro is water resistant and durable, effectively maximising the thermal efficiency of the HyperDRY™ fill, while the Pertex® Shield waterproof inserts across the shoulders, tops of the sleeves and the hood help to protect you from the worst of the weather. For a personalised fit when out and about, the Ember features a removable hood and an adjustable hem — check out the hand pockets for the hem adjustment.

The coldest week of my life - ever.
First jacket like this I have ever had - and I bought it for minus 20C temperatures in Mongolia. It worked really well. Warm as toast. Would like a little more room around the neck to allow me to fully zip it right up while still wearing a neck warmer. But maybe I haven't quite got it set for my size yet? Ulaanbaatar is very very dry; we saw no snow or rain just frigid temperatures and blue skies. So I cannot comment on waterproof qualities. Looks good. Many Mongolians wear longer coats and another 10-15cm length may have merit for this jacket. But for me 5 stars. A very good buy.

Hi, can you please tell me the hydrostatic head or water resistance of the main fabric? Thanks
BEST ANSWER: Hello Alex, thanks for the question. The Pertex Quantum Pro material has a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish on it making it highly water resistant, but not waterproof. Unfortunately there is no Hydrostatic rating for this. Thanks.
Hi. What is the lowest temperature this jacket is rated for?
BEST ANSWER: Hi Simon, thank you for your question. Our down jackets do not have a temperature rating. This Jacket is designed for winter in NZ/AU. All the best, The Macpac Team.
