Great Jacket
I purchased this jacket for an exchange semester in Canada. It was able to withstand -30 (plus windchill) with no issues. The water resistance is also good. I have worn it both in the rain and snow without issue. It is also a very comfortable jacket and feels cozy.

My only issue with the jacket are the Velcro cuffs. They don't seem to be the highest quality so I always keep them loose in an effort to preserve them. But the jacket is still very warm with them loose.

I am 182cm and 80kg and a medium fits me well, and leaves me enough room to wear a heavy jumper under the jacket.

Fantastic jacket
I am ladies size 12 and bought Mens jacket size L. It fits comfortably over cardigan, easy to drive in the car, is so light and easy to slip on and off, hood is great, and I especially love the polar fleece inner lining at the wrists, keeps me so warm and feels sooo lovely. Material used for outer part of jacket feels top quality. I also bought one for my son in Canberra. 10/10 for this jacket. Bec June 2019

Fantastic Warmth and Comfort
I used this jacket for my trip to China in January 2019. It was so warm that I didn't need to wear a mid-layer even once, and it got down to -25 degrees in Harbin! When you step outside of the hotels and shops in the middle of a China winter, the cold punches you in the face, but I never felt it in this jacket. I even wore it skiing and it kept me warm (too warm) and dry. You can wear this with a light merino base-layer and a t-shirt and you will be fine in very cold weather.

Not too warm for Australian winter
My main concern with this jacket (which I bought for a winter trip in Europe) was that it would be too warm for winter in Australia. It was about 12 degrees this morning, and I went outside zipped up with just a short sleeve shirt underneath. The warmth was perfect. If it gets warmer, you just need to unzip more of the front. Super happy with my purchase :)

Blown away with its performance!
This jacket will definitely keep you warm and dry! Wind cannot penetrate and rain rolls off easily!

great jacket, keeps you very warm and packs away easily, only negative being the velcro tabs on the cuffs do not always stick
These jackets are great, they pack down easily into your pack and keep you extremely warm when the conditions are chilly! The only negative aspect is the velcro cuffs lose their stick and the tabs don't stay in position all the time, overall great jacket

What is the difference between the Sundowner & Halo jackets? Also, how durable is the outer fabric of the Sundowner? Thanks
Willem P on Jan 5, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The sundowner is a great jacket for cold conditions with a better fill power than the halo. I didn’t like the cuffs so I had elastic sewn into them by a tailor to stop them slipping down over my hands.
....I purchased a down jacket recently from the Stoney Creek range, called a Thermolite...the issue I'm having is with the inner layer of material...when I walk quietly with no haste the inside of the jacket produces or keeps the moisture from the arms and body torso...in other words it keeps everything in and does not breath..my question is to you...does your Sundowner jacket do the same?...makes ones sweat on arms and around the torso? Karl .

BEST ANSWER: Hello Karl,

The Sundowner is made with Breathable Pertex® Quantum outer shell which will make the jacket breathable. It is an ideal jacket for hiking and climbing and made for this purpose.

Kind regards,
