Love it
This is a great jacket, light packable and warm enough for camp with other layers. Good wind resistance, and doubles as a pillow. What a shame it is discontinued, which is why I own two now.

Lightweight but not well tailored
I have one of these and agree with previous comment, no the best jacket for outdoor adventures due to tighter fit around shoulders. The stitching in mine gave way in the armpit after about two months use. Credit to Macpac for getting the stitching fixed, but unfortunately this may sit in the fashion use, less outdoor adventure use category.

Good lightweight warmth but not the most durable.
Really nice jacket to wear in the winter, keeps you really warm but still light enough to not get you sweaty during a hike.
The fit could be improved with more freedom of movement around the shoulders as it can be restrictive when climbing etc. I own other macpac products and this one seems tighter than others around the shoulders.
Also would love to see a slightly tougher face fabric. I know weight is important with this design but I think most people would sacrifice another couple hundred grams for a much tougher outer.

Can compete with any top US brand
I had done quite a bit of research on jackets, and read a lot of reviews of the big names US light weight down jackets. Was a bit concerned about the fill weight of them, as reviewers remarked got a bit too cold when the temperature dropped. Then I found this one, just slightly more fill, but otherwise seemed a perfect equivalent of top brand US jackets. And only 260 grams!

I couldn't wait to try out this jacket, and took it to Tongariro National Park for an overnight camping trip. Just before dark it was 0 °C, night time temperatures dropped to -4 °C. I was perfectly warm wearing just a simple Merino base layer T-shirt and this jacket. Very good wind protection. Has the required hem draw cord. Instead of grabbing a fleece when admiring the views from the top, I grabbed this jacket, and I'm sold. This will be my go to layer from now on. Superhappy with this purchase.

Only drawback I can think of is that it doesn't have a hood draw cord. It's fine if you have the collar under your chin, if it's over your chin, there's too much space in the hood.

I bought one 4 years ago and a second one last year. Not because the first one wore out although I wore it a lot but because I no longer want to be without and can't spend all winter in the same jacket :)
Great with a waterproof light outer shell.
And light enough to always be in the bag whenever I hit the mountains.

The best for lightweight warmth
I love this jacket. I bought this because I am trying to get my pack weight down as low as i can sensibly go. This jacket is perfect for that, nice and light and nice and toasty.

Versaitility in it's own pocket
I use this insulation piece for anything and everything, from it's intended use in Alpinism, to back country fishing missions to travel and town wear.

I have put it through the wringer and it has held up to anything I have thrown at it in the two years I have owned it.

It's so light I don't hesitate to pack it on all my missions.

Optimum lightweight insulation.
I bought one of these because I was after a lightweight insulation layer, and my research indicated the Supernova was one of the lightest garments of its type.
I now own two of these jackets. They are precisely what I needed. Exceptional warmth performance for their weight, and a great fit too. Obviously the push to minimise weight has trimmed off a few features you might expect to find in heavier down jackets, but it isn't lacking anything you really need.
I wore one of these while filming in exposed locations in the Catlins for four weeks, enduring brutal southerlies, and torrential driving rain and hail. Combined with a shell (which these slim jackets fit under easily) I was never cold.
