Great 3-Season Hiking Pants
This is my first time trying the Macpac brand of pants. I've been a Patagonia fan for years, but because Macpac drew me in on some other great gear, I decided to give these ultra-light pants a go. Comfort and fit is great but the wind resistance is phenomenal. Stopping heat loss and expelling moisture is the way to stay warm when it gets cold and the material breathes and stretches great. These pants have an integrated belt, a zip-closure phone pocket that holds a large phone and two front slash pockets. Quality is very good and compliments a merino base layer perfectly. Downside is that I found the fly zip to be a bit short because the rise is low, but we are splitting hairs here. The pants are good value for money.

Most comfortable pants I've worn!
These pants are excellent in many conditions and very comfortable! They keep the water and wind away well and are my new go to pant!

Can these trekker pants be hemmed if they are too long? I fear the lightweight material may tear if you take up the trouser legs.
bob C on Jul 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Bob,

No problem hemming the pants. The material won't be damaged.

Kind regards,
Macpac Team
are these pants warm enough for winter mountaineering?
jandl s on Jul 20, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Jandl,

Even though the Trekker Pants have a water resistant outer, the better option for winter mountaineering would be the Fitzroy Alpine Series Pant, as these have an added fleece backing to them.

Thanks, The Macpac Team
Hi what is the leg length difference between the 2xl and the xl on these pants?
cobbs on May 15, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hello Colin,

The length difference is approx. 3-4cm. The measurement for each size are:
From belt to bottom = 113cm for XL and 82cm from the inside of the leg to bottom
From belt to bottom = 117cm for 2XL and 85cm from the inside of the leg to bottom

Kind Regards,
The Macpac Team!
