The Hightail Rain Pants Mens are extremely lightweight, windproof and waterproof sea-sealed pants. Part of our Alpine Series, these rain pants are designed in partnership with the renowned New Zealand Alpine Team. From the design floor, to some of the world's hardest alpine routes, the Hightail range has been tested, refined and retested by elite climbers who have pushed these items to their extreme limits. The Hightail is perfect for activities such as alpine climbing and adventure racing where there are no compromises on weight, and packability is crucial. A highly effective rainwear piece, the Hightail is fully taped and constructed with 100% Nylon Double Ripstop fabric with a thin Pertex Shield® membrane to create an almost weightless addition to your pack.

Note: The lightweight nature of this fabric means it's not suitable for high abrasion use.

To get the best performance out of your waterproof garment frequent washing and drying is recommended.

Before washing ensure all zippers and closures are secure.

Tumble drying is very important to rejuvenate the DWR finish.

We’re really excited about the Hightail. We’ve tested it out ice climbing in the Canadian Rockies, alpine climbing in Fiordland and most recently on a summer alpine trip to the Bugaboos also in the Canadian Rockies, It’s been great as an item you throw on if the weather turns, or as an outer layer to keep the damp out when you’re climbing. Most importantly, it packs down to almost nothing, with virtually no added weight - See more at: http://blog.macpac.co.nz/new-zealand-alpine-team/#sthash.wjwNvVAc.dpuf

Lesson learnt

Mathew, 26/12/17

Wore these pants on Mera Peak in Nepal and found them super light but still really effective protection against a moderate wind.

Forgot to wear gaiters so crampons tore the lower legs to shreds. Too tired to notice until I got back to base camp.

Would buy again though.
