Very Blunt Knife
Overall the quality is good. Steel, well machined, fits together well. Spoon and fork seem OK: BUT: the knife has no edge at all and is as blunt as a soccer ball. The purpose of a knife is to cut, and it doesn't have to be razor sharp, but when it's superficially serrated, you'd expect it to be capable of cutting a piece of toast, or a breakfast sausage, cleanly.

Response from Macpac
Hello Tim, Thank you for taking your time to write a review on the Steel Cutlery. We are sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with your purchase. This is a very simple cutlery set and should be able to handle the most simple tasks - if you feel that there is an issue with the knife, you are more than welcome to take the item into your local Macpac store and the team will help you find the best solution for you. Again, thank you for your feedback. Kind regards, The Macpac Team

Bigger than anticipated
I bought this for backpacking and it's bigger than I anticipated, but still pretty lightweight.

Stands the Test of Time and Travels!
I have been using my set of these since the mid 1980s. They have travelled across 4 continents, been out on innumerable hikes, allowed quiet hotel room dining on salads and something to go with them from a supermarket in countless hotel rooms and they have been on hand in my old hostels and backpackers kitchen kit when shared cutlery was in short supply. I had a brief interlude with the new super lightweight ones, but the knife bent to the point that it may as well be plastic, so reverted back to these after just one trip.
