  • Product Description

The Alpine Series Pisa is packable, breathable, and warm for its weight.

Polartec® Alpha® Direct fleece is moisture-wicking when you're moving and warm when you're not. It's quick-drying, breathable, and packable. It also contains 78% recycled content, and it's the same fabric we use for our minimal Nitro Pullover.

A ripstop nylon outer increases wind resistance, and its DWR finish improves moisture repellency.

Our Alpine Series is the direct result of our partnership with the New Zealand Alpine Team (NZAT). This team of elite mountaineers demand premium lightweight equipment that doesn't compromise performance.

The main and lining fabrics are bluesign® approved, which means they were manufactured with the responsible use of resources.

We are transitioning the finish on this style to be PFC-free. You can identify if your garment has a PFC-free finish by the swing tag on the garment. To learn more about how to care for your PFC-free wet weather gear check out our blog post.

Highly recommended
Love it. I use it as 2nd layer in alpine/windy or cold weather. It has been good for down to 5-10 degrees. If it gets any colder I put on a puffer and it is warm and cozy together. It is also very stylish so I wear it instead of a fleece. Highly recommended.

I actually have the guys in the Adelaide City Macpac store to thank for this purchase. They highly recommended this jacket. True to their word, it was a great inclusion for my European trip and especially when walking the Cotswold Way in England. The Women's Pisa Fleece Jacket could be scrunched up small to fit in my day pack side pocket and I could also fold it into it's own pocket. It was light to carry and wear and great as an outer wind break. Being water repellent was also a huge plus. If you are familiar with England's weather, often there was no need for a full rain jacket but I needed a little protection from the misty drizzle, this was perfect for that, along with being breathable and quick drying. Great as a light layer on cooler evenings and also able to wear layers underneath to provide a little extra warmth when needed. Overall a great investment that I'm hoping to get years of wear from.

Pisa fleece jacket
We were given the orange ones for Land Search and Rescue and I loved my orange one so much that I decided to buy one for personal use. It takes a lot for me to purchase a piece of gear and last this jacket replaces my old Karrimore fleece which has been going for over 20 years. Light weight, packs down small and is snuggly warm in cold conditions. I'm generally between a 14 and 16 so went for the size 16 which will allow me to layer up if needed.

Make sure it is wrinkle free
I purchased this to take on holiday to Norway. The jacket was creased and wrinkled. The creases and wrinkles wouldn't drop out. It was unwearable. Absolutely rude assistance from Tom at Macpac Lt. Bourke Street. Eventually, after much going and going and a few porkys from Tom I got a refund. My husband had the same jacket. No wrinkles, and was very happy with it.

Great lightweight jacket
I wore the Pisa jacket walking the Kepler track last month. It was warmer than I expected. I wore a long sleeve merino top underneath and didn't need more layers. It did help a bit that we had perfect weather. I love this jacket and wore it this morning on a chilly beach walk. Definitely recommend it.

Light, warm, wind resistant and water resistant
It's definitely not high fashion but I love this jacket as my warm layer when hiking and if it's super cold i wear it as over my down jacket at camp. Also as it's DWR treated and wind resistant it's extra versatile whilst being light and not as sensitive as a down jacket. I sized up to a 12 which makes it great for wearing over my down jacket when needed

Very functional mountain jacket
Great jacket for the outdoors. Have used it a lot over winter in the mountains and it has kept me warm without overheating when active. The hood has come in handy several times. It’s not fully wind-proof but that probably helps with its breathability and I’ve not noticed any cold seep through on windy days . Only downside I’ve found is that the fabric stains easily and the stain remains even after using stain-remover at times.
I got a slightly larger size to make sure I had good arm length, glad for that . It is not shaped or fitted at all so hangs straight down.

Great for multi pitch climbing
Love the chest pocket, the warm fuzzy inside. Really useful jacket for rock climbing and multi pitching
