Decent, but not excellent
I bought these in a panic when I was about to go tramping and couldn't locate my heftier pair of gaiters - they were a good deal at the time for canvas gaiters and I was likely going to be doing a bunch of scrub bashing. I thrash my outdoors gear, so was interested to see how these held up. These would be a good buy if:

- You're looking for a cheaper full canvas option for light scrub bashing, walking overgrown trails or through wet snowgrass type terrain
- You're 6" or less (I'm 6"3 and these sit just below the widest part of my calf, which results in them sagging over time tramping)

These managed a couple days in the snow, and a fairly overgrown three day trip, but then they met their match with the Dusky track. 7 days of constant bog got to them and they were quite sad after that trip. When I went to adjust them a few months later to lend them to a friend, the stitching around the lower strap support fixing it to the gaiter literally ripped off. Oops.

If this is going to be your main set of gaiters and you'll put them through a lot of tough terrain, I would save your pennies and get something a bit tougher.

How breathable are the gaiter ? Are the as breathable at E-vent ?
Lostsheep on Jan 11, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This gaiter is canvas & will stop your lower leg being torn to bits on blackberry, bushmans laywer, hook-sedge etc, but it will be fairly hot. They're hard wearing. During warm months, I tend to use them with the top open to improve air flow. I've used several types of gaiter & they're always hot when the weather's warm.
What size would fit shoe size uk7 please?
Meredith K on May 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Meredith. Gaiter size is often determined by how they fit around the width of your calf and how high you would like them to sit. If you are of average size a Medium Cascade gaiter should be fine, if you are a petite build a small would fit better around your calf. The loop that runs under your boot is adjustable. Thanks.
