Excellent Pack!
I bought this in a Boxing Day sale two years ago and it's the best pack I've ever had! Have taken it to the Kawekas, National Park, Hollyford and more. Even slid down the scree on the side of Mt Taranaki and it didn't get damaged at all :) Pack is completely waterproof, extremely durable and just the right size for overnighters and up to 5 day tramps. It comes with its own rain cover, which is super handy. I got the S2 - I'm a petite woman, but find it fits me perfectly. If I had one complaint, it would be the back isn't as breathable as some packs - but having a sweaty back is a minor issue!

What are the dimensions of the frame?
John A on Oct 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It's different between every pack.
Hi does this have a compatible day pack you can buy for extra? Thanks
Kieran S on Oct 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Kieran,

No it does not. Only model with compatible day pack is the Macpac Gemini AzTec® 75L Travel Pack.

Kind regards,
Macpac Team
Hi, it states ‘hydration compatible’, but how do you secure the hydration pack inside & where is the port for the mouthpiece please?
Jenny on Sep 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Jen, the Pack has a port for the hose (at back / top) But no actual sleeve for the bladder. We personally lie the bladder on top of everything else under the lid. The hose just runs down your harness straps. I attach the hose end to my sternum strap with a small carabiner. Thanks the Macpac Team
Hi there, what's the difference between this pack and the Macpac Torlesse 65L AzTec® Zip? Thanks!
Viola on Jul 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Viola, the main difference between these two packs is the main material used. The AzTec is a denser and more durable material, which many of our original packs were made of. The second difference is that the AzTec pack can be opened from the top of the pack and also the front. Making it easier to get to items packed in the middle of bottom of the pack without pulling everything out to get to it. Thanks.
What are the straps along the bottom of the bag used for ? They are attached to the clips on the bottom zipper, they can be removed and wrap around the size of my fist.
Samuel on Feb 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, we looked into this for you and can confirm that these are dual axe attachments. Cheers :)
Do you have a pack that zips open rather than just packing and unpacking it from the top?
Amanda J on Feb 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, yes we do. We manufacture the Voyager which is a 35 L overnight/day pack and the Exchange duffel which is designed for travel overseas. We hope this is helpful. Cheers :)
I would love to know if the first reviewer has the most recent version of the Torlesse Backpack or if Macoac have improved the airflow in the back of the pack in the most recent model please?
Jenny on Feb 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Jen, i had a discussion with our head of design and he advised that we’ve made a few updates to this pack over the years, but in terms of the harness it is fundamentally the same. Cheers :)
Does the top lid convert to a day pack?
Berfot on Dec 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello Erica, the top pocket is not removable on the Torlesse. If you want a pack with day bag we would suggest looking at the Genesis - https://www.macpac.co.nz/packs/travel-bags-duffels/genesis-aztec-85l-travel-pack/114192.html
What are the dimensions for the Torlesse 65l pack v2?
Jose P on Dec 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Great question Jose - the measurements do change depending on the size of the pack (W2 / S2 / S3) but roughly measure 80cm long and about 45cm wide 35cm deep. The pack is rated at 65 litre capacity.
Is this suitable for a men's or a woman's frame?

Help!! Guy in store showed me how to adjust the shoulder straps on my T65. Ive loosen off webbing, adjusted straps and then tightened the webbing straps on inside of the pack but the shoulder straps keep adjusting. Have I missed a step ?
