Why we made this
Designed and tested in New Zealand, the Torlesse 50L Hiking Pack is hard wearing and hard working — whatever your adventure.
  • Product Description
We’ve been designing packs for the world’s toughest outdoor conditions since 1973 — our Torlesse range was designed to satisfy the need for fully featured, general purpose hiking packs that suit New Zealand 'tramping' conditions. A canvas alternative, the Torlesse range features a combination of Cordura® and nylon ripstop fabrics for back country durability in changeable weather. Designed and tested in New Zealand, this hiking pack is comfortable with an adjustable AirFlo™ Flexi-Fit™ harness and supportive hip belt. Optimised for freedom of movement and comfort, this harness features anatomically-shaped shoulder straps and generous mesh padding through the back panels. A traditional top-loading pack with a large main compartment (with an internal base compartment divider and external zips), the Torlesse comes in a variety of sizes and capacities to suit your body and your adventure. This 50 litre pack — with a built-in rain cover — is perfect for overnight hiking and travelling light off the beaten track.

Rinse the pack well and dry it in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight

Great purchase, top quality back pack
Buying my 1st backpack, so It was a hard chose to make as I’d never been hiking! But it was so worth it. It was comfortable, practical & great size for a 3 day hike! So many adjustments to help the pack fit really well!

Perfect for overnight tramp
I just went on an overnight tramp to Cedars Flat Hut with the torlesse W2 50L. The hydration bladder hole is just behind the logo airflow. I prefer to put my water bladder at the front of the pack though which fits a 3L camelbak hydration bladder. I had mine fitted at the shop. My height is 157cm and I found this bag the perfect size for me. It also comes with a built in cherry red rain cover which fits around the backpack.

Great pack for a few days
This is a well-designed and made pack suitable for anything from day trips with a lot of gear to several days for light packers, or summer trips. Besides the good volume of the pack with its compartments and lid and outside pouches, there are two rather large side pockets - and the rain cover still fits over the pack with these side pockets full.

These packs are robust and comfortable and don’t drive you crazy with interminable creaking common to a well known US backpack.

Love it!
This pack is the perfect size for over-night or for a few days, especially for experienced hikers who prefer less weight or minimal gear. Its rain cover keeps the rain off, and is easy to negotiate when needing to get into the pack again.

can this be a carry on bag on planes?
Kevin S on Oct 24, 2019

Hi there, what does s2 s3 and w2 mean?
Michelle F on Dec 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello Michelle,

The sizes refer to the size of the harness. s2 - standard 2 (general size), s3 standard 3 (for longer length back/taller individuals) and w2 - women's 2 (this has a wider hip belt and slightly shorter length) For more information refer to the following link

Hope this is helpful :)
